Rebecca sent out birthday gifts for the kids--which they enjoyed opening very much!
But I'll just let the photos speak for themselves:
We think we know what this is!
Smiley hoping his sisters are so engrossed in the new books that they won't notice him fanaticizing about eating the whole thing himself
They started reading the Kiss book right away, Aunt Rebecca! And then proceeded to read it together at least once a day for the next several days. : )
Of course we had to stop by the cliffs on Uncle Chris' first day, so he could see the ocean.
And just now, while retrieving photos from both our camera and my phone, I realized I didn't get ANY photos of our second day/evening, which was jam-packed with fun!
--DH and Chris and Smiley went to see the redwoods up in the Santa Cruz mountains, then hung out at the Abbey until the rest of us joined them. (The girls had music lessons and their weekly LEGO engineering class, so that's why we split up.)
--Then it was off to Natural Bridges State Beach just to look for a moment, then to Marianne's Ice Cream. Mmmmmm.
--Then we drove the long way down the coast, passing the Boardwalk, all the various beaches and surfers, through Capitola and ended up down in Moss Landing, where we saw the sea lions and then ate at one of our favorite Mexican restaurants.
We loved sharing with Chris some of our favorite local things, esp. we showed his family when they got to visit back in summer 2011.
Thanks for coming to visit, Chris!
I was so glad that Chris was planning to visit you. I just wish we could all get together more often. But I will just be thankful for the times any of us do get together. Love the pictures. Couldn't believe how much the kids have grown and matured, and then I thought, "well, it has been 2 years." Hopefully, we can drive out in December. Love to all!
