words i am pondering today

Do your little bit of good where you are; it is those little bits of good put together that overwhelm the world.--Desmond Tutu

I will have to keep this short, because I am two-finger typing on DH's touchpad and not only does it take so long to say anything, and I am constantly making mistakes as my fingers are not quite accurate with these little keys, but also I don't know how to turn off the darn auto-correct, and it keeps changing my slips of the finger into totally different words. Already it tried to make DH's into "HE,s" and "auto correct" into "Word perfect," which it clearly is not. But I must make a brief post to just say that one of the reasons I was so busy this past month was because we were finishing up the school year while getting ready for a road trip! Well, I am typing this now from the road, now--in Colorado at the home of my dear Susan and her beautiful family. The road here was fun but I admit did seem to take forever (five days of driving via National parks we were visiting for the first time), but my time with Susan seems to be flying. And we are only half-way to our ultimate destination, which is my parents' home in IL! It is my parents' 50th wedding anniversary this summer, so we are planning a celebratory open house, and a family dinner for family-reunion time with those who come from out of town. SO fun! As good a reason for a month-long road trip as any. So, I will blog more from IL, when I can use a real computer and have time to sit at it. Until then, please know I am using some of these long hours in the car to pray for you all. May you all have a safe and blessed week!

last day to order adorable T--and enter to win one free!

Just wanted to make a quick update to my last post.  Here is the adorable "Boss Your Heart" T-shirt I got for Sunny, the proceeds of which go to orphans:

The back of the T reads in tourquise James 1:27:
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

I find it no small coincidence that Monday is the last night of my SoulFood Bible study--on the book of James.  God has grown me so much through this study, and not necessarily in the ways I would have expected.  So I actually really resonate with the idea of "Bossing My Heart."  The phrase originated with the Patterson's little daughter who had a heart condition, and her epitomized her fierce determination to survive heart surgery.  She did not.  Her family picked up the spirit behind their daughter's catchphrase and gave it an additional meaning--to determine what each of us is going to do to obey God and love others as fully as possible in His name.

I just had to post again because today is the last day to order one of these T's (they will only print as many as are ordered), or the black T version.  And the last day to blog or tweet or fb about it to maybe win a free T!  Check out the details (and see more pics) here.

much love to you all!

Squeeking in a post--adorable T's, sold to bless

SO MUCH TO SAY.  So little time today.  (Or I should say, so many things I really need to do instead)

But I came upon these t-shirts today, and thought they were so attractive--and the proceeds from some of them benefit families trying to fundraise for adoptions. . . so I had to get in a quick post to share them:

Beautiful sentiments and graphics on the front, and at least some of them have even more beautiful Scripture on the back.  Non-Christian readers:  I personally would be comfortable wearing a shirt that quoted Budda, if it was a sentiment that I believed in, and doing so would not make me feel like I wass endorsing all of Buddhism.  If you like any of these shirts, consider if you would feel the same way about the words of the Jewish or Christian Scriptures, like below:

One of the shirts is being sold as a fundraiser for heart surgeries for orphans:

You can read about it's inspiration here.

The last shirt I want to share is also from one of the blogs on my sidebar, "All Are Precious In His Sight."   I'd post a picture, but Lorraine's blog is acting a little wonky this morning, so the image is cut off.  But I actually like it so much I ordered one for Sunny, who neede some new clothes this summer.  I could not justify one for myself, since I have plenty of T's, so good thing I had reason to shop for Sunny. ; )  I got the brown design, which I love.  But there is also a black design, for a limited time.  I will try to post an image later--it is so cute.   And the proceeds from that sale also go to help orphans. Win-win!

So if you need any t-shirts for your kids this summer, consider these!
